Not a Dressing. A Sealant.
The detailing market is full of tire dressings. Most are solvent-based silicone products that sit on the surface of the tire, look good for a week, and eventually sling onto the vehicle’s bodywork. Black Velvet was built differently. The water-based latex formula reacts with the rubber. Penetrating the pores of the tire wall and anchoring a flexible film to protect the surface. The result is a finish that holds up through weather, washing, and daily driving in a way that conventional dressings cannot match.

Protection, Not Just Appearance
The flexible film is chemically inert against the conditions that degrade rubber over time. UV exposure, and harsh weather are the primary causes of tire cracking and dry rot. Black Velvet’s continuous film seals the sidewall against those elements, extending the life of the tire’s appearance and the rubber itself.
Sling-Free Formula
Silicone-based dressings are notorious for slinging off tires at speed and leaving oily streaks across painted bodywork. Black Velvet’s latex-based formula bonds to the tire surface and stays there. Drive with confidence immediately after the 10-minute dry time.
Directions
Thoroughly clean tires using FEYNLAB Tire and Wheel Cleaner before first application to remove any previously applied silicone products. Allow tires to dry completely before applying. Ensure no contamination is left before moving on to the sealant step.
On first application, apply 2 coats. The first coat will be partially absorbed into the pores of the tire, which is the intended effect. Using a microfiber or foam applicator, work the sealant evenly into the sidewall, avoiding contact with the wheel. If product contacts the wheel, remove immediately with a microfiber and Panel Prep before it sets.
Wait a few minutes between coats. Apply the second coat in long even passes, covering approximately one quarter of the tire at a time. Allow 10 minutes drying time before driving.
For ongoing maintenance, wash tires with Pure Wash or Pure Rinseless using a soft bristle brush. Do not use Tire and Wheel Cleaner on tires that have been treated with Black Velvet, as it will prematurely degrade the sealant. Reapply a single maintenance coat when the desired gloss level is no longer visible, typically every few months depending on conditions.
