The benchmark for three-year ceramic protection and the best single-layer coating in its class. Ceramic bonds directly to your paint and builds a hard, hydrophobic barrier that resists contamination, UV, and the gradual loss of gloss. It outperforms competing ceramics in the three-year segment on gloss, durability, and self-cleaning, while leaving wax and sealants far behind. Built on more than two decades of refinement from the brand that introduced ceramic coatings to automotive paint.
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT use Overcoat with this product. Overcoat will interfere with the superior hydrophobics of Ceramic.
FEYNLAB® Ceramic delivers long-lasting gloss, protection, and hydrophobic performance for all paint types and colors.
FEYNLAB Ceramic
Some coatings are defined by a single season of development. Ceramic is the result of more than a decade of refinement built on the foundation of the first ceramic coating ever brought to the automotive market. That history shows in the product. It is the benchmark for single-layer, high-solids ceramic coatings and has remained that way through every generation of the category.
For vehicle owners who want meaningful protection without the commitment of a long-term coating, a three-year ceramic is the practical choice. Ceramic makes that choice easy. It bonds directly to the paint surface, builds a hard hydrophobic barrier, resists environmental contamination and UV exposure, and holds a level of gloss that wax and sealants cannot match.
The Story Behind Ceramic
The lineage of Ceramic traces back to the early 2000s when FEYNLAB founder John Suerth introduced the first ceramic coating developed specifically for automotive paint. What began as a groundbreaking product category has been continuously developed and refined over more than twenty years to reach its current form.
The result is the best single-layer ceramic coating available in its class. It delivers industry-leading depth of color, gloss, and self-cleaning performance while remaining one of the more installer-friendly coatings on the market. Its single-layer durability outperforms many multi-layer systems from competing brands. In the three-year coating segment, nothing competes with it.
Hydrophobics and Self-Cleaning
Ceramic forms a true covalent bond with the paint surface. The coating follows the contours of the surface at the microscopic level, producing a continuous ceramic membrane with no gaps in coverage. That bond is what separates it from coatings that simply sit on top of the paint. Ceramic becomes part of it.
The nanoscale structure of that membrane is what drives the self-cleaning performance. Water and airborne contamination have no foundation to hold onto. Liquids bead tight, release quickly, and carry surface debris with them as they go. Panels stay cleaner between washes and require significantly less effort to maintain.
Properly maintained, that barrier stays active and consistent for the full three-year life of the coating.
Gloss and Clarity
The high film build of Ceramic adds a level of gloss that is immediately visible and remains consistent over time. The added thickness creates depth across any color without altering the character of the paint underneath. Pearls and metallics stay vivid. The coating enhances what is already there.
That same film build serves a protective function. Ceramic shields the factory clearcoat from UV degradation, which is the primary cause of clearcoat failure over time. Protecting the clear means preserving the gloss beneath it for years longer than an unprotected surface would allow.
Approved Surfaces
Clear-coated painted surfaces all smooth and textured plastics (test on an inconspicuous area if unsure), Headlights and taillights, Black piano trim, Clear-coated painted wheels and calipers.
Do not apply to unapproved surfaces. Using any surface not listed above is at the applicator’s own risk.
Paint Preparation
Wash the vehicle thoroughly with FEYNLAB Pure Wash or FEYNLAB Pure Rinseless. Follow with a topical decontamination clay treatment using FEYNLAB Prime. Where embedded iron contamination is present and cannot be removed by claying alone, treat with a ferrous iron remover before proceeding.
Polish all surfaces to the correction level required by the client. After polishing, wipe all surfaces with FEYNLAB Panel Prep to remove polish oils and ensure full coating adhesion. Allow a minimum of 10 minutes after Panel Prep before beginning coating application.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before You Begin
Work in a clean, well-lit space with an ambient temperature between 50°F and 85°F (10°C to 30°C). Have at least four clean microfiber towels and two to three microfiber applicators ready before starting. Stop all air movement in the workspace as much as possible. Moving air accelerates coating cure inconsistently and makes dwell time difficult to manage across the vehicle.
Applying the Coating
Shake CERAMIC vigorously for 2 minutes, then open the cap and allow the product to breathe for 1 minute before applying. Continue shaking briefly between panels. Check the bottle neck for hardened coating crystals before each use and wipe them away with a clean microfiber towel if present. Crystals dropped onto the applicator pad can scratch the surface.
Load the applicator with enough product to cover one panel such as a door or half a hood. Begin with a "+" pattern centered on the panel, then trace the outer edges to frame the section. Fill in the remaining area with straight, slightly overlapping parallel lines. Follow with a perpendicular pass to cross-hatch the panel. Step back and check for runs, drips, or heavy spots. Smooth any out with the applicator before moving on.
Allow the coating to reach approximately 75–85% cure before leveling. Depending on ambient temperature and humidity, this typically occurs between 3 and 12 minutes. This range is why a test panel is essential. Working a small test section first allows you to determine the proper cure time for the current conditions. The rainbow effect indicates bonding has begun but should not be used as the sole indicator for leveling.
Test the coating by lightly swiping the surface with a gloved finger perpendicular to the application pattern and observing its behavior. Once the ideal cure time has been established, use that timing throughout the remainder of the vehicle. Avoid coating more panels than can be leveled before the coating fully cures.
Leveling
Once the coating is ready, wipe the panel clear using two clean microfiber towels. The first towel levels and removes the bulk of the coating. The second towel removes any remaining residue, leaving a crystal-clear, glossy finish.
Inspection
Inspect all finished panels carefully before moving on. Pay close attention to edges, emblems, and tight spaces where residue tends to collect. High spots are significantly easier to correct within 20–40 minutes after the final wipe than after the coating has begun to cure.
Layering
A single coat of Ceramic is sufficient for the full three-year warranty on clear-coated painted surfaces. A second coat can be applied to high-impact areas such as the hood, front bumper, or leading edges for added film thickness. Additional layers must be applied no sooner than one hour and no later than three hours after the previous layer was wiped clear. Exceeding the three-hour window will result in cloudiness.
Infrared Curing
IR curing is optional but can be used to accelerate the curing process. Bake each panel to a surface temperature of 140°F (60°C) for approximately 15 minutes while keeping the IR lamp about 30 inches from the panel.
Post-Application Care
Avoid water exposure for 24 hours after application. If the vehicle must be released in wet conditions or will encounter water within 24 hours of the final coat, apply FEYNLAB Hybrid Ceramic Detailer at least two hours after the final wipe or IR cure. Avoid all chemicals and car washes for 7 days. Maintain using FEYNLAB Pure Wash or FEYNLAB Pure Rinseless and FEYNLAB Hybrid Ceramic Detailer. (INSERT LINK TO HOW TO WASH YOUR CAR)
Climate Notes
Higher humidity accelerates coating cure. At humidity levels approaching 75% or higher, reduce dwell times accordingly.
Moving air will also shorten dwell times on any surface it contacts, which is why stopping air movement during application is strongly recommended.
All FEYNLAB coatings perform best in a temperature-controlled environment between 50°F and 85°F (10°C to 30°C), with humidity kept as low as possible.
Shelf Life
