The Original Ceramic is FEYNLAB’s most accessible ceramic coating. It forms a true chemical bond with painted surfaces, delivering lasting hydrophobic protection, gloss, and slickness. Where It Starts
The Original Ceramic traces its lineage to the first ceramic coating developed by FEYNLAB’s chief scientist. That formula has been continuously refined over two decades and remains one of the most sold items that we produce. While it carries a lower solids content than FEYNLAB’s advanced coating lines, it is a true ceramic coating with proven durability and genuine hydrophobic performance.
The Lotus Effect
The lotus leaf is one of nature’s most efficient self-cleaning surfaces. Its texture, structured at the micro and nanoscopic level, prevents water from spreading across the surface. Instead, water beads up and rolls off, collecting dirt and contaminants as it goes. The leaf cleans itself.
FEYNLAB used that principle as the foundation for ceramic coating technology. When The Original Ceramic cures on a painted surface, it creates a similarly structured hydrophobic barrier. Water cannot sheet or spread. It beads, rolls, and carries surface contamination with it. The higher the water contact angle, the closer the behavior mirrors the lotus leaf and the stronger the self-cleaning effect.
Hydrophobic
The Original Ceramic truly has hydrophobic properties above and beyond the competition. The coating bonds chemically to the paint surface and forms a durable barrier against water, oils, fallout, road grime, and environmental contaminants. Because these materials cannot bond through the coating, the surface stays cleaner and is significantly easier to maintain.
When Ceramic Original is properly maintained, water alone can dislodge surface contamination. Water beads pick up loose dirt and carry it off the panel as they roll. The result is a surface that stays cleaner between washes and requires less effort when washing is needed.
Designed for DIY
The Original Ceramic is the most economical coating in the FEYNLAB lineup. The wipe-on/wipe-off application requires no specialized equipment and can be completed on multiple panels at a comfortable pace, even for the inexperienced enthusiast.
