How It Works
Most glass protectants connect to the surface using hydrogen bonds or van der Waals forces. These attachment mechanisms are structurally weak and predictably fail under wiper abrasion and ongoing environmental exposure. FEYNLAB Window Coating uses covalent chemistry instead. Covalent bonds resist breakage far more effectively, and that is the structural basis for the coating’s durability.
The coating is also self-etching. When applied over glass that has been properly prepared with Feynlab Window Cleaner Polish, the coating’s own etching action continues further into the already-profiled surface. The combined effect of mechanical surface preparation and layered chemical etching produces a level of adhesion that topical treatments cannot achieve.
As the coating sets, it fills the micro voids across the glass surface and builds a continuous protective barrier across the peaks and valleys of the surface profile. Once fully cured, the surface becomes chemically resistant, hydrophobic, oleophobic, and stain resistant. Optical clarity improves as the surface geometry is uniformly filled and leveled.
